Have No Illusions Boy

Ok, so I have a gripe with the cop on the Queensborough Bridge that gives people crap for "only caring about themselves" as they ride in the pedestrian lane on the 6 foot wide bridge path. He stopped me the other day for biking in the pedestrian lane while going around other bikers.
Apparently I "dangerously" passed some peds right in front of him. After he pulled me over, he proceeded to lecture me for caring "only about myelf". He tried to make me feel stupid by questioning my ability to see the pedestrain markings on the right side of the path. To this i could only reply with "I'm sorry officer, I didn't realize what I was doing" in order not to get a ticket.
After repeatedly threatening me with several summonses of $120 each, he gave me a very stern warning that if he ever saw me "doing that again" he'd give me so many tickets that I would never be able to ride my bike again.

Here he is in fine form...

As you can see he's doing a fine job of protecting the construction workers from the menacing bikers going uphill on the bridge.
I'm actually a bit surprised I was not stopped by him again for pointing a camera in his face.

For a moment I thought he might have been harder to get around than then these guys...

Yes, those annoying Super Mario turtles, which strangely the cop reminds me of.

There has been quite a bit of controversy regarding the QB bridge bike/pedestrian path.
Apparently there is a real need to slow cyclists down on the bridge, lately.

During the rush hour commute back home, they even have a cop park a non-marked car at the entrance of the bridge to slow everyone down as they come off or onto the bridge on the Queens side.

Hopefully I will soon have a picture of this idiotic set up that is supposed to make us all safer.
